Boone

Boone is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Watauga County. This town is more than a college town (Appalachian State University), it’s also a popular tourist destination with unique shops and locally-owned restaurants. Daniel Boone, a famous American frontiersman pioneer, used to camp within the city limits before it was established; hence the name of the town. Tourists from out of state and North Carolina visit this community during all seasons. Summer is a great time for river tubing and camping, autumn is great for seeing the leaves change colors, winter for skiing, and spring for hiking.
